Rochester
is a city on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in the state of New York, and the seat of Monroe County. The city is located in the state's Western region, and has a population of approx 1,082,284 people. Rochester was one of America's first boomtowns, and rose to prominence as the site of many flour mills along the Genesee River, and then as a major hub of manufacturing.

| Rochester Fire Department - Stations & Apparatus
|
The Rochester Fire Department - includes over 500 uniformed and non-uniformed members, which represent the ethnicity of the community as a whole. The department was established with the mission of saving lives and property. This was accomplished primarily by fire fighting. Although the mission is still the same, firefighters on the department today perform various other duties as well. Firefighters respond to numerous emergency situations, such as, vehicle extrication, medical emergencies, high-level rescue, hazardous materials incidents, structural collapse, swift water rescue, and many more emergency operations.
